Hi! I’m Al Somers, Webmaster & Founder of BestSexSite.net. This site has been created for the exploration and discussion of human sexuality. Sex is not only a highly pleasurable activity, but it is also a subject, just like eating is an activity and the culinary arts is a subject or discipline within that realm. It is a subject no different than tennis, golf, photography, sukudo puzzles, etc. Yet why are we so circumspect about discussing it in the open, especially among strangers? Why does the very mention of the word “sex” evoke the reaction is does — anywhere from a sly smile to a disapproving look? In fact, only two subjects tend to evoke a physiological response: food and sex. Ever describe a succulent dish, just to have the listener retort: “Stop, you’re making me hungry!”? As for sex, well, you get the idea… ”SEX” - what a fascinating multifaceted subject! One can talk about the history of sex, or one’s sexual history, the physiology behind sex, or the psychology of sex… Let’s see… There’s sexual slang, sexual practices, sexual taboos, sexual perversions, etc., etc. And as for sexual practices, perhaps no form of human behavior exhibits such endless diversity as the seemingly infinite forms of sexual expression! Nothing is so covert, so couched, so arcane and secretive as sex. It is that unseen part of us that we only reveal to our most intimate friends and lovers, if at that.
This blog shall serve as a platform to share my insights and observations into this fascinating subject, and I am hoping that there will be a plethora of contributors to share their thoughts, comments, observations, and views about sex as well. Look forward to many –hopefully interesting and insightful — articles to come.
